Hey, I'm Samah Qaderi
In the words of Kurt Vonnegut, "We have to continually be jumping off cliffs and developing wings on our way down." This quotation speaks to me a lot as a student entering the marketing industry as I prepare to "dive in" and develop my own "wings" or figure out where I fit best in the industry. I am a creative student at Mohawk College enrolled in the Advertising & Marketing Communication Management program with dreams of becoming a Creative Director one day.
I strive to create and achieve an environment where innovation, experimentation and creativity are encouraged and common. I am constantly thinking up unique and creative ideas and strategizing ways to accomplish them. Also, I enjoy the future, at least the concept of the future takes up a lot of space in my head. I like to think of what can be achieved and what things, ideas or even people can become. I believe this itch for the future helps me think up new ideas. Somedays I think of so many ideas it's like a notebook you are surprised hasn't run out of pages, good ideas and bad. Then again, bad ideas aren't bad if you can turn them into something good.
Everything starts as an idea and bringing an idea to life is exhilarating so when the Advertising & Marketing Communication Management program introduced the Creative Cloud I was very excited. With the Creative Cloud, I learned and developed skills to help me bring ideas to life through programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Now, I've used these skills to build ads, logos, campaigns and so on for school and even got to design a logo for my cousin's realty business. I look forward to what the marketing industry has in store for me to learn, experience and create.
